NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE PUBLIC HEARING - attached
DELTA SUTHERLAND OASIS CEMETERY MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District is proposing to increase its property tax revenue.
The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District tax on a $306,000 residence would increase from $30.13 to $40.83, which is $10.70 per year. The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District tax on a $306,000 business would increase from $54.77 to $74.22, which is $19.45 per year.
If the proposed budget is approved, Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District would receive an additional $40,000 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 35.51% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.
At the County Commissioners request, the Hinckley Deseret Cemetery Maintenance District will be annexed into Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District during the coming year. Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District's current budget is not adequate for the addition of two extra cemeteries. Therefore, we are asking for a tax rate increase.

The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or online. Citizens can participate in the hearing and provide oral testimony within a 10-minute total limitation, or by submitting comments online.
