- Hearing agenda - attached DELTA SUTHERLAND OASIS CEMETERY MAINTENANCE DISTRICT Notice Is hereby given that the Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District will be holding a Public Hearing Monday, November 17, 2025 In the Millard County Office - Delta Courtroom At 71 South 200 West, Delta, Utah 84624 It shall begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. The agenda is as follows: 1. Motion to Open Public Hearing for Truth-In-Taxation a. This hearing is actively on-line by electronic device to accommodate those wishing to participate; however, unable to attend. b. Pledge of Allegiance 2. Discussion and Action regarding the Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District's intent to levy a tax rate increase from .000179 to .000243 a 35.51% increase 3. Motion to Adjourn Certification of Mailing The undersigned duly appointed Secretary for the Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District Board, hereby certifies that a copy of the foregoing agenda was sent to each member of the board, and posted in three (3) public locations by October 28, 2025 _______________________Carol Meinhardt_______________________________ Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District Secretary NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE PUBLIC HEARING - attached DELTA SUTHERLAND OASIS CEMETERY MAINTENANCE DISTRICT The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District is proposing to increase its property tax revenue. The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District tax on a $306,000 residence would increase from $30.13 to $40.83, which is $10.70 per year. The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District tax on a $306,000 business would increase from $54.77 to $74.22, which is $19.45 per year. If the proposed budget is approved, Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District would receive an additional $40,000 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 35.51% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth. At the County Commissioners request, the Hinckley Deseret Cemetery Maintenance District will be annexed into Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District during the coming year. Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District's current budget is not adequate for the addition of two extra cemeteries. Therefore, we are asking for a tax rate increase. A public hearing is scheduled for November 17, 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Millard County Office - Delta Courtroom, 71 South 200 West Delta. The virtual meeting link is: https://bit.ly/3KMo3Cw The Delta Sutherland Oasis Cemetery Maintenance District invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or online. Citizens can participate in the hearing and provide oral testimony within a 10-minute total limitation, or by submitting comments online. To obtain more information regarding the tax increase, citizens may contact Christina Stanworth, chair of the board, 435-406-5522, or Carol Meinhardt, secretary of the board, 435-979-5827.
