SYRACUSE CITY Syracuse City Disaster Prep Committee May 27, 2021 - 6:30 p.m. Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S. Notice is hereby given that the Syracuse City Disaster Prep Committee will participate in a meeting on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. in the large conference room of the Municipal Building, 1979 W. 1900 S., Syracuse City, Davis County, Utah. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss/review the following items: Welcome: Duane Cheney Call to Order: Duane Cheney Prayer: TBD Pledge Read Meeting Minutes: Patrick Approved Meeting Minutes Action Item Update: A thank-you article was sent to the Syracuse Connection Magazine to thank all the Syracuse businesses for their participation in the Disaster Preparedness Exercise. Duane: Report on articles for the Syracuse magazine need to be around 250 words. Patrick's Water Purification Methods article, the most complete and concise that I've ever seen was 980 words long and was rejected due to length. I edited it down to 380 words and sent it back. I don't know the outcome. New Committee Business: 1. Extend a welcome to Jennifer Eagle to our committee. She will be taking Terry Palmer's place as a committee member at large. 2. Extend a welcome to Brigham Young from the Syracuse South District. 3. Orientation of new members by Jordan Savage. 4. In reviewing the terms of the DPC members, the following Committee members terms have expired or will expire in June. We ask the following individuals if they would like to continue on the committee. They would then serve until June of 2025. a. Judy Meservey b. Lane Smith c. Patrick Carroll d. Duane Cheney 5. Finish RDAP presentation. What is needed: Lane Smith to report. City Website Presentation: 1. Dan: Progress report Syracuse City Website Preparedness 2. Terry Palmer to report on J&J Raised Flower Beds Recorded Presentation. A. To be published on YouTube and City Website. 3. Judy to report on July 17th TNT First Aid class. It will be recorded for Website Presentation on First Aid Kit Assembly. a. The class will be held on July 17th at 10 am. b. He would like to set up at 9:30 and will bring items people can purchase. c. He would like to speak for 1 hr. and talk about common household injuries and some we may have while we are away from the house. d. Erin, could you reserve a classroom from 9:30-11:30? 4. Presentation of Build Your Own Class A First Aid Kit for the July Syracuse Connection magazine. 5. Judy to report on September Website Presentation on How to Heat your Home in an Emergency to be videoed on the 11th of September. To include a report on the Texas freezing temperatures and power outage. 6. Discussion: Topic for 4th Quarter Website Presentation. Recommendations please 7. Discussion: Topic for the October Syracuse Connection magazine. Syracuse South (Brigham) has the responsibility to write the article for presentation to this committee in our July meeting. 8. I'll be in Ecuador in June. I can connect remotely or I can have Dan lead the meeting.
