NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, the Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Parowan City Council Chambers, 35 E. 100 N., Parowan, UT, to receive public comments regarding the following:
1. Proposed Shared Driveway/Private Lane Code. This ordinance establishes when multiple dwellings may share a private access and sets minimum standards to ensure safety, proper maintenance, and adequate emergency and service access.
2. Amendments/Updates to Typical Roadway Sections in City Engineering Standards.
Amendments include creating a 50-foot right of way standard for new developments and eliminating the 'no on-street parking' option from the standards.
3. Updates to Parowan's Annexation Policy Plan. Consideration for updating the 2003 annexation policy plan to make it consistent with current state code and to consider changing the boundaries for potential annexations. Factors being considered include justification for excluded areas, infrastructure cost and limitations, utility service extensions, development areas, agricultural land considerations, and growth and land needs.
The Public is invited to attend and offer comments to the Planning Commission. Copies of proposed code, amendments and updates are available for public inspection from the Parowan City Offices, 35 E 100 N, Parowan, Monday - Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 am - 12:00 p.m. Information will also be posted on the Utah Public Notice Website, www.utah.gov/pmn/, as well as the Parowan City Website, www.parowan.gov.
