- PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Magna City Council will hold a meeting for presentation, discussion, and possible action at 6:00 PM on the 8th day of September 2026 at the Broadway Building, 3151 South Broadway Street (7700 West) Magna, Utah as follows: ** Portions of the meetings may be closed for reasons allowed by statute. Motions relating to any of the items listed below, including final action, may be taken. 6:00 PM - PUBLIC MEETING 1. CALL TO ORDER 2. Determine Quorum 3. Pledge of Allegiance 4. COUNCIL VACANCY (Motion and Voting) A. Interview of Candidates for Mid-Term Vacancy for District 5 B. Council Action to Fill Mid-Term Vacancy for District 5 C. Swearing in of Newly Appointed Council Member 5. TRAINING A. Municipal Authority, Council Roles and Responsibilities, Personnel Policy, Rules of Order and Procedure, Code of Conduct, Ethics, and Other City Procedures - Nathan Bracken 6. PUBLIC COMMENTS (Limited to 2 minutes per person) Anyone who wants to speak on an item that is not on the public hearing agenda must sign up and will be called in order. Please state your name. Council Members will not respond during public comments, but city staff will follow up if needed. Comments are limited to two (2) minutes. 7. CONSENT AGENDA A. Approval of City Council Meeting Minutes 1) August 25, 2026 City Council Meeting 8. PRESENTATION ITEMS A. Code Restatement and Standard Operating Procedures - Nathan Bracken 9. Unified Police Department - Chief Christopher Benedict 12. COUNCIL REPORTS 13. FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS 14. CLOSED SESSIONS IF NEEDED AS ALLOWED PURSUANT TO UTAH CODE §52-4-205 A. Discussion of the character, professional competence or physical or mental health of an individual. B. Strategy sessions to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation. C. Strategy sessions to discuss the purchase, exchange, or lease of real property. D. Discussion regarding deployment of security personnel, devices, or systems; and E. Other lawful purposes as listed in Utah Code §52-4-205 15.
