Vote Vote to approve the last Board meeting notes called by: Seconded by: Vote Outcome: Sara Archibald - Secretary Marta Barlow - Treasurer Christian Swenson Tamra Watson Alysha Milligan 8:18 Business Susan McDonald (President) resigned Sept 12; and Thesa Callinicos have also stepped down. We need to vote to accept their resignation. We submitted a proposal for Azure Fields to serve 7-12 grades. The SCSB did not approve our proposal. We are still operating under our 9-12 grade Charter Agreement. We need a marketing committee. What can board members do? Utilize the Schola Lead Sheet (86 names) Clean the sheet. Merge the four duplicates, flag 8th vs. 9th-11th, add columns for 'student name,' 'last contacted,' and 'next step,' Email #1 to the full list. The subject line could be 'You asked about Azure Fields. Here's what's next.' Include a one-paragraph vision and intent to enroll form. Text or call the ~20 families with phone numbers who haven't replied by Friday. A short personal text gets a better response than a third email. Ask interested students to share information with their friends and neighbors Generate New Leads (20 to 40 per week) Activate interested student families to recruit new families - referral program - ask them to share a text or email. Post on social media. Send an email to administration of potential feeder schools - asking them to share the information with their families (i.e. Mountain Sunrise, Treeside, Wasatch Waldorf) Start flyer distribution All public libraries in Draper, Lehi, American Fork, Pleasant Grove, Lindon, and Saratoga Springs Farmstores (ask if they have a consumer email listing as well): Snuck Farms, Pleasant Grove; Oliver's Place, Pleasant Grove. Identify: Local coffee shops, bookstores, and health food stores, music, art, dance studios, kids' activity centers and nature-based organizations. Farmers markets and community boards Post in Facebook groups or online forums (follow each group's rules): Utah County homeschool groups, Utah charter school parent groups, 'Provo/Orem/Lehi moms,' and Waldorf or Montessori interest groups. Send information about Azure Fields Charter High School to other Utah County Charter Schools - contact school counselor. Closure criteria and timeline If we cannot get enough help with outreach tasks, contact the authorizer about closing If progress is not adequate by the end of October, initiate closure Board reconfiguration: new Board President and which officer roles can be combined Utah Charter School Program (CSP) grant, Round 3 Eligibility review complete; invited to submit the full application (due in October, awards in December) Review feedback from the last two applications and the CSP folder in the shared drive (use your @azurefields.org login) Board members have viewer access to the application portal; ask Carol for editing rights to help with a section Board training Pre-Op Training Wed Oct 7, 7 pm MT: Charter School Facility and Finance Readiness 101 (who is attending?
