ADJOURN CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION NOTICE OF COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL BUSINESS MEETING AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Business Meeting beginning at approximately 7:00 p.m., or soon thereafter, on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Chambers located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Persons physically attending the meeting in the City Council Chambers may make verbal comments to the City Council when invited to do so, after completing a speaker comment card. Written comments that are timely submitted will be admitted into the record of the meeting and distributed to the City Council but will not be read at the public meeting. 5.0 ACTION ITEMS 5.1 Consideration of Ordinance 420 Amending Chapter 9.05, COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CODE OF ORDINANCES, Concerning Nuisances and their Abatement. (This ordinance will amend Chapter 9.05 of the city code concerning nuisances and their abatement to conform certain of its enforcement mechanisms with recent changes to UTAH CODE ANN. 10-11-1 et seq., 'Inspection and Cleaning'). 5.2 Consideration of Resolution 2024-55 Providing for a Special Bond Election on November 5, 2024 to Submit to the Qualified Electors of Cottonwood Heights, Utah a Proposition Regarding the Issuance of Not to Exceed $30 Million General Obligation Bonds for the Purpose of Acquiring and Improving Land (Including Prior Bond Carrying Costs for the Same), Providing Public Open Space and Amenities, Pedestrian Improvements, and Other Needed Infrastructure to Facilitate Economic Development, Community Events and Activities in and around Cottonwood Heights' Proposed Town Center at Approximately 2300 East and Fort Union Blvd.; Providing for the Posting of a Notice of Public Hearing; Approving the Form of and Directing the Posting of a Notice of Election and the Ballot Proposition; and Related Matters. (By this resolution the council will initiate the process to put the proposed issuance of 'general obligation' bonds of up to $30 Million before the city's electorate, provide for the posting of a notice of public hearing regarding the same, and related matters as described in the foregoing title of this resolution). 5.3 Consideration of Resolution 2024-56 Approving Entry into an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Canyons School District Concerning School Resource Officers. (This resolution will approve the city's entry into an interlocal cooperation agreement with Canyons School District concerning the city's provision of CHPD officers to act as 'school resource officers' in certain of CSD's school facilities in the city). 5.4 Consideration of Resolution 2024-57 Approving an Appointment to the Architectural Review Commission. (By this resolution the council will approve the city manager's appointment of Jesse Allen to the city's Architectural Review Commission). 6.0 CONSENT CALENDAR 6.1 Approval of travel by CHPD Officer Lance Best to Niagara Falls, Canada to attend a training conference for the city's Versaterm software program. 6.2 Approval of travel by Mayor Weichers and Councilmember Holton to Incheon, Yeonsu-gu, Korea to establish and formalize a 'Sister City' relationship. 7.0 POSSIBLE CLOSED MEETING TO DISCUSS LITIGATION, PROPERTY ACQUISITION AND/OR THE CHARACTER AND PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OR PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HEALTH OF AN INDIVIDUAL 8.0 ADJOURN CITY COUNCIL BUSINESS MEETING On Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, a copy of the foregoing notices was posted in conspicuous view in the front foyer of the Cottonwood Heights City Offices, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A copy of this notice was sent to the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News, newspapers of general circulation in the City, by the Office of the City Recorder. The agendas were also posted on the City's website at www.ch.utah.gov and the Utah Public Notice website at http://pmn.utah.gov.
