About Open Houses: Online Open Houses are hosted by the Planning Division as an opportunity for constituents to stay informed, review projects, and provide comments and questions. To attend, click on the project link for each item below. Your input is valuable! Public Comments and Questions: We want to hear from you! Public comments and questions will be received within the public comment window. To submit a comment or question please contact the assigned planner via email or leave a voicemail, your questions will be answered within a week after the comment window has ended. During and following this comment period, the Planning Division will evaluate the proposal against the applicable zoning standards, taking into consideration public comments as they relate to the standards, and develop a recommendation for the Planning Commission. New Projects Open for Public Comment : The list of new projects open for public comment is updated bi-weekly. ___ Commercial & Mixed-Use Zoning District Consolidation Salt Lake City is proposing to update its zoning ordinance and zoning map by consolidating up to 27 existing commercial, form-based, and mixed-use zoning districts into six new mixed-use (MU) districts. This effort seeks to streamline zoning regulations, clarify language, and integrate missing design standards. The goal is to create a more manageable code for the city to administer and increase accessibility and understanding for the public. The new mixed-use districts will resemble current ones but will feature adjustments to setbacks, building height, lot coverage, permitted land uses, and related provisions. The proposed development consists of 161 townhome units within 23 buildings. Most of the units are three-bedroom, three-bath, with two parking spaces each. The average height of the buildings will be approximately 29 to 32 feet tall, at three stories. Places of worship are a conditional use in the RMF-35 Moderate Density Multi-Family Residential District. The proposal is for an addition to the existing building. The current building was designed as a two-phase project with phase 1 consisting of the current building which includes a post-function/gym space, two classrooms, a small food warming area and building support spaces. The current phase 1 building will remain with slight modifications at the interface between the two phases. This phase two project consists of the addition of a two-story sanctuary with a second floor added above the existing phase 1 building. The proposed addition will provide a new building entrance and pre-function lobby, a sanctuary, an accessible elevator to the second floor with access to a large classroom, visiting pastor's apartment, offices, and observatory overlooking the sanctuary.
