- Date of Meeting: Tuesday 6/11/24 Venue: OSTA - Conference Room Time: 5:30pm to 6:30pm Call to Order/Open Meeting: Approval of minutes: May 14, 2024 Citizens to be heard: OSTA Assistant Director Report (Reported by Greg): Overhaul to Swamp Coolers - Deep Clean and maintenance Had a motor go out on one of the swamp coolers during the rodeo. Two on order (Replacement & Shelf) $687.50 each Installation of combo locks at the Score Keepers building and the Pavilion Concession. Crews have been mostly focused on general maintenance upkeep, event prep & event clean up (lots of manure!). OSTA Director Report (Angie): Un-Official Roof update North roll up door has been installed Sound Room Needs: Air Conditioning, sound system is over heating Main Arena Wall Projects - East wall for banners, NE wall American Flags & Local Special Services, SE wall County Flag 4H FFA, NW wall Rodeo mural, SW wall RR4W mural, N Mezz. Brand mural. Installation of gates at ballfield road Donation of pallet racking from The Synergy Company to The Grand County Fair - Will be re-organizing our storage shed for The County Fair. Events: May- D's Adventures (multiple dates), Grand County Drill Team practice (Every Friday), 4-H Horsemanship program, PRCA meeting, PRCA Drill Team Practice (Every Wednesday & Sunday), Soccer Practice (Mondays & Wednesdays), Softball Practice (Daily), Skate Moab (Multiple dates), Red Rock'n Blue Rodeo Club Jr. Rodeo, Soccer Games, Raptors on the Rocks, Come Fly A Kite, Destination Kitchen, Barrels 4 Bucks, Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo June- Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo D's Adventures (multiple dates), Grand County Drill Team practice (Every Friday), 4-H Horsemanship program, PRCA meeting, PRCA Drill Team Practice (Every Wednesday & Sunday), Soccer Practice (Mondays & Wednesdays), Softball Practice (Daily), Skate Moab (Multiple dates), Soccer Game, Dynatrac, The Crystal Festival, Graduation Party, Adult Softball Tournament, Free Concert Series (Stage) Not to be forgotten, will discuss when updates are available: World Trail (need design+ sponsors / donation) Trail to be formalized by arena staff by adding reject gravel +Horse Obstacle Course Outdoor Arena - Maintenance and construction upgrade stage 1 of 3 (1 arena, 2 roping boxes & steer run, 3 Cover over arena, lights, bleachers, announcer's booth, wind breaks, and bucking chutes) Greg & Angie need to discuss 'Growing Pains' Need to source funding, out growing current set-up. Need more pens for rough stock, holding pen for broncs, additional pens at main arena. Implement Shed- Convention/Expo Hall- OSTA Development Master Plan- OSTA Emergency Operating Plan (EOP)- Draft in progress Board Member Reports: Kathy- Rex- Patrick- Bob- Krista- Jennifer- Mike- New Business: By-Laws (If available, Comm Admin are working on these) Review EOP & EAP Drafts. Review of the 2024 Grand County Fair Schedule Review Grand County Fair purchases that have been made ICA on 6/18/24 County Commission Meeting - JTS Photography Local Consent for The Moab Brewery on the 6/18/24 County Commission Meeting for approval Discussion on remaining of Grand County Fair budget and the direction of the funds. Recommend a motion to cancel July 9, 2024 OSTA Advisory meeting due to staff scheduling with the fair.
