PUBLIC NOTICE Laketown Public Hearings and Town Council Meeting May 22, 2025 7:00 PM Notice is hereby given that the Laketown Town Council will hold Public Hearings starting at 7:00 PM in the Laketown Town Office located at 10 North 200 East Laketown, Utah for the following four (4) items: Immediately following the Public Hearings, the Laketown Town Council will hold a Town Council Meeting. 1. To receive public comments and discuss opening and amending the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget: A copy of the FY 2025 budget and amendments will be available at the Town office, during regular business hours. Following the above listed hearing a public hearing will be held for: 2. Ordinance 2025-04: Amending Title 9, Building Regulations, Chapter 9.1 Building Code, Section 9.1.3, Building Permit Required of the Laketown Municipal Code; Providing for Repealer and Severability Amending ordinance 1) to include a 180-day deadline for commencement of construction following the issuance of a building permit 2) outlining the building permit clearance process with the town 3) if suspension or abandonment of work on the building exceeds180 days the building permit will expire 4) any building permit that expires will require submission of a new building permit application and fees. Following the above listed hearing a public hearing will be held for: 3. Ordinance 2025-05: An Ordinance amending Title 7, Public Ways and Property, Chapter 7.1, Streets, Sidewalks and Public Ways, Section 7.17, Obstructions of the Laketown Municipal Code; providing for Repealer and Severability. Amendments to Ordinance to include 1) definitions of Right of way, Personal Property and Stored, 2) It is unlawful to store personal property on the town right-of-way for more than fifteen (15) consecutive days, 3) Violation of this ordinance constitutes a civil infraction and may result in a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500) and 4) Each day the violation contuse beyond the fifteen (15) day period shall constitute a separate offense Following the above listed hearing a public hearing will be held for: 4. Ordinance 2025-06: An Ordinance amending Title 12, Manufactured Homes, Chapter12.8, Storage and Use of Recreational Vehicles, Section 12.8.1, Definitions: Regulations: Penalties of the Laketown Municipal Code: Providing for Repealer and Severability Amending the ordinance to allow property owners to store up to two (2) of their own currently registered recreational vehicles on their vacant lot. The public is invited to attend and may give written or oral comments during the public hearings. All public hearing items will be discussed and/or approved during the Laketown Town Council meeting following the public hearing. On Monday, May 12, 2025 at 3:30 PM a copy of the foregoing notice was posted on the Utah Public Notice website at http://pmn.utah.gov and on the Laketown website at www.laketownutah.com. A copy was posted in conspicuous view inside and outside the Laketown Town Office in Laketown, Utah, and inside of the Laketown post office and at Dee's Service Station.
