AGENDA February 6, 2025 / 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM Call to Order: Brent Drew Welcome new HDEC Member, Stephanie Hill Pledge of Allegiance Approval of Minutes: Tricia Harris December minutes for approval Public Comment None Presentations Historic Preservation Committee Updates - Scott (5 min.) Breakout Sessions (25 min. 20 in individual groups 5 in seats min.) In Groups - each group pick your top 2 things to focus on. *attached In seats - Input for second item for strategic work plan. Discussion - Brent (20 min.) Further discussion on monument sign restrictions, especially regarding size. Consider creating an overlay zone to distinguish between the downtown core and surrounding areas. Further discussion on zoning boundaries for downtown versus historic districts. Business (20 min.) Sign Ordinance & Final Recommendations: - Brent How to regulate murals and ghost signs. Don was going to check with different cities to get an idea of their ordinances on these and also consult legal. Letter for Talisa to remind businesses about ordinance regarding items like A frames, feather signs, and similar materials. Adjusting the Use Table to remove large fuel stations and include farmers markets. Staff Reports (20 min.) Utah250 - Talisa *attached Keep an ear out for businesses interested in Main Street vacancies. Next Month's meeting: March 5th 5:30-7:00pm, Cedar City Council Chambers ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Our Mission as the Historic Downtown Economic Committee is to provide input and advice to the Cedar City Council on the following: 1. Propose innovative and efficient ways to effectively invest in the Historic Downtown district. 2. Propose economically viable policies that are conducive to the economic health and preservation of Historic Downtown.
