NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Receipt of Bids: Sealed bids (rebid) for construction of Newton Town's Pickleball Court Improvement Project ('Project') will be received by the Engineer at 95 West 100 South, Suite 115, Logan, Utah, until Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. (local time) and then at said office and time publicly opened and read aloud.
Obtaining Contract Documents: Digital copies of the bid documents may be obtained and/or hard copies examined on or after Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Hardcopies may be examined at the town offices, located at 51 South Center, Newton, Utah 84327, during regular office hours. Digital copies may be obtained from the Town Engineer via email at edursteler@forsgren.com at no cost. Hardcopies will not be provided to bidders. Please address questions on the project to Eric Dursteler, P.E. by email at edursteler@forsgren.com.
Description of Work: The project consists generally of the demolition and removal of approximately one-half of the existing tennis court's concrete pavement, refreshing and re-compaction of the base course material, construction of the post-tensioned concrete court pavement, furnishing and installation of the 6-foot court fencing, construction of concrete pavement and expansion joints around the court, furnishing and application of the acrylic paints for the court surface, and all appurtenant and related work thereunto for its completion as to form and function.
Pre-Bid Conference: A pre-bid conference will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. meeting at Newton Town Hall. Representatives of the Owner and the Engineer will be present to discuss the project. A site visit may be conducted following thereafter.
Bid Security: Bid security, which must be on the Bid Bond form provided with the Construction Documents or on approved Bid Bond documents provided by the Bonding Agency, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, made payable to Newton Town, shall accompany the bid. A certified cashier's check may be used for the bid bond.
Project Administration: All questions related to this project prior to the opening of bids shall be directed to the Engineer for the project, and all questions shall be in writing. For 'or equal' items to be considered for evaluation, Contractor must submit information in compliance with the 'Instructions to Bidders.' No clarifications or questions will be answered three (3) days prior to bid date.
Owner's Rights Reserved: Newton Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any formality or technicality in any bid. Final quantities and project work portions will be dependent upon bids and the final project budgets.
