NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an annexation petition covering property located North West of the boundaries of Grantsville City has been filed with the City Recorder of Grantsville City. Pursuant to the petition, Wayne Boyer, is seeking to annex approximately 31.77 acres into the corporate boundaries of Grantsville City. This land includes privately owned property and is described as follows:

COM 14.89 1/2 CHS E OF SW COR OF SE 1/4 OF SW 1/4, SEC 24 T2S R6W SLM, N 19 5/8 CHS, E 1083 FT, S 19 5/8 CHS, W 1054 FT TO BEG CONT 31.70 AC 31.77 AC
Beginning at the Tooele County Surveyor monument representing the Quarter Corner
common to Sections 24 and 25. Township 2 South. Range 6 West. Salt Lake Base and Meridian (Basis of Bearing for this description is North 89'55'40' East along the section line defined by Tooele County Surveyor brass monuments representing the Quarter Corner common to Sections 24 and 25 and the Section Comer common to Sections 24 and 25 in Township 2 South, Range 6 West and Sections 19 and 30 in Township 2 South, Range 5 West, Salt Lake Base and Meridian);
thence along the section line, a northerly boundary of Grantsville City and the southerly boundary of that parcel of land described in that certain Successor Trustees Deed,
recorded August 12, 2010 as Entry No. 345527 in the office of the Tooele County
Recorder. South 89'55'29' West 338.55 feet, more or less. (record = West) to the
southwest corner of said parcel:
thence along the westerly boundary of said parcel of land, North 0'03'40 West 1278.75 feet, more or less. (record = North) to the northwest comer of said parcel of land;
thence along the northerly boundary of said parcel of land. North 89'55'40' East 1025.33 feet, more or less (record = East 1083 feet) to the westerly right-of-way line of Cooley Street. a 56 foot-wide public street;
thence along said westerly right-of-way line of Cooley Street, South 0'56'58' West
1278.94 feet, more or less, (record= South 1278.75 feet) to the section line:
thence along said section line, South 89'55'40' West 664.22 feet to the Point of
Beginning.
The Grantsville City Council on November 7th, 2024 received written notice of the City Recorder's certification that this petition meets the requirements of Utah Law.
The Grantsville City Council may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition, unless on or before December 7th, 2024, a written protest to the annexation petition is filed with the Tooele County Boundary Commission and a copy of the protest is delivered to the Grantsville City Recorder. Protests should be filed with the Tooele County Boundary Commission at the office of the Tooele County Clerk, 47 South Main Street, Tooele, Utah 84074. Protests may be filed by the Tooele County Commission; a local district under Title 17B, Limited Purpose Local Government Entities - Local Districts, or special service district under Title 17A, Chapter 1, Special Service District Act, whose boundaries include any part of an area proposed for annexation; or any other affected entity or party that is authorized to protest the annexation pursuant to the provisions of the Utah Code.
If this annexation is approved, the area proposed for annexation will automatically be withdrawn from the North Tooele County Fire Protection Service District. This Service District provides fire protection, paramedic and emergency services and Grantsville City is not located within the boundaries of said District.
