JUNE REGULAR MEETING
Thursday June 13, 2024 6:00 pm
Station 2 (behind Town building)
Attending: Mitch Stock, Bob Russell, Bill Rau, Ron Drake, Jazmine Duncan, Greg Halliday, Susan Halliday
Call to Order: 6:09 pm by Bob Russell
1. Public Comment:
Agreed to alter agenda to place item 6 upfront;
Ron: when fighting fire on Pace Hill several people were watching; Tommy White's daughter helped with moving truck.
2. Approval of Minutes of May 2024 meeting
Moved by Bob, 2nd By Mitch, all approved
3. Administrative Issues
State grant in; to be notified in July
4. Chief's Report: Ron Drake
- Two fires on May 25th and Ida Gulch fire on Pace Hill with 6 members turned out.
- New hose and fire packs arrived
- Generator on lot 13 hasn't been starting; a cranking issue; Ron has been starting manually but couldn't start the last time. Ferrell Gas added items to the tank to increase pressure of gas to the generator. Ron then started it manually; and last auto start also happened
- Engine 1 and 35 were at Castle Valley Academy to oversee the burning of a field.
- May 31st Bill Morck did pack test
- Engine 1 would not go into park; Dorje repaired the problem
- Greg Halliday did pack test
- Provided an assist to an EMS at mile 16
- June 5th, Max Kasenbaun did pack test
- June 11, engine 37 used to water down grass on side of CV Drive before cutting of grass; the engine ran out of fuel and lines had to be bled to restart
- Met with Jazmine and county Emergency manager
- Paid American insurance bill
- Russ Cooper resigned.
5. Treasurer's Report: Bob Russell
- Not much to report
- Couple of donations
- Under budget so far this year
- Training funds available for testing of materials, etc. from state agency. If we can get training done here, it is more realistic.
6. Discussion and possible action re.: July 4th event: Susan Halliday
Pancake breakfast and no parade this year; 9-11:30 at Station 2; various activities including rolling skating; photos, etc.
7. Discussion and possible action on long term planning, fire dept. needs, priorities, vision and policies: development of standard operating guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Engine 38 still has a leak; Dorje will look at it when he can
- Some firefighters not getting pages; Mitch said we'd pay for boosters. Text messages may go through.
8. Closed Session (if necessary): personnel matters, awards; recognition program, etc.
