9. Discuss putting a speed limit sign on Center Street- David James approached the Council with his concerns on how fast people are driving on the East end of Center where it meets Mill Dam Rd. He states that there isn't a speed limit sign between his place and where the city ends. David states that at the intersection at Center St. and Mill Dam Rd. is a hazard. He says that there's needs to be something prior to the stop sign. David states that people coming
off of Mill Dam Rd. are going faster than 35 mph. David says that he has almost been hit several times backing out of his driveway and that he isn't the only one. He says that people aren't stopping at the stop sign either. David lives at the top of Center St. in Chris Wares old house. There was a suggestion to widen the road right there, David would like a yield or speed limit sign before the stop sign in that section of road. David McKee says that we have the signs. David James states that we will probably see a major fatality there is something isn't done. The city has cleaned out the weeds at that intersection to clean it up. David is concerned with the Pre School right there and all of the kids that go in and out of there. Brittney Richards says that the bus driver doesn't pick up at that bus stop because it isn't safe. Tracy Addley said that he doesn't think a sign will help and that the Sheriff's Department needs to patrol. From the stop sign to Mike Jewkes house there is not a speed limit sign. The city will look in to this. Greg Jewkes will make some calls to find out more about this situation.

14. Discuss hiring summer help
Mayor asked about the budget to do this. The recorder and treasurer explained that because we hired David McKee on full time with benefits and the budget that his salary comes out of doesn't support the raise that he received. The budget is short as of now. Mayor want to revisit this in July when the new budget comes out. Tracey also suggested to use volunteers that need hours. David McKee stated that he has volunteers working now. Amanda Lake explains that Orangeville City has a policy that does not allow Court ordered volunteers and that we need to look int that if the council is wanting to use those volunteers.
