NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARINGS
The Ogden City Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Wednesday, November 2 at 5:00 pm in the City Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, Ogden Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Boulevard, in Ogden City, Weber County, Utah to consider the following:
1. An amendment to the city's zoning ordinance and zoning map to implement the 'Make Ogden' downtown plan. The proposal would:
a. Create new zoning districts in downtown Ogden, including a Commercial Entertainment (C-ENT), Commercial Mixed-Used (C-MU), Historic 25th Street Commercial (H25), Nine Rails Creative District Commercial Zone (C-9), Residential Multiple-Family Vertical (R-MFV), and Residential Multiple-Family Horizontal (R-MFH). The downtown area extends generally from 20th Street to 28th Street and from the Union Pacific Railroad to Adams Avenue.
b. Establish permitted and conditional uses for each zone.
c. Establish standards for setbacks, lot coverage, parking, building design, and more for each zone.
d. Establish standards for use and improvement of sidewalks in downtown.
e. Define and clarify terms.
2. An amendment to the city standards for conversion of hotels and motels to residential dwellings. The proposed ordinance would:
a. Require that at least fifteen percent (15%) of the dwelling units have at least one (1) bedroom, and an additional ten percent (10%) have two (2) or more bedrooms.
b. Require certain equipment to constitute a kitchen.
c. Require facilities with sixteen (16) or more rooms to provide twenty-four (24) hour on site management.
d. Establish and clarify standards for open space, amenities, and architectural design.
e. Define and clarify terms, including, without limitation, the definition of 'single room occupancy.'
The proposals may be viewed at the Ogden Municipal Building, 2549 Washington Boulevard, during regular business hours, or on the city's website https://www.ogdencity.com/539/Planning. Anyone wishing to comment on the proposals may speak at the hearing. This meeting will also be held electronically.
