PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ANNEX THE LITTLE PONDEROSA RANCH SUBDIVISION TO THE EAST ZION SPECIAL SERVICE DISTRICT. The Board of County Commissioners of Kane County Commissioners hereby declare their intention to annex the little ponderosa Ranch subdivision into the East Zion Special Service District. The boundaries of the annexation are the Little Ponderosa Ranch Subdivision Amended, as set forth in the attached Legal Description. Taxes may be levied annually upon all taxable property within the proposed annexation area. The District shall have the legal authority to charge fees for services the District provides. The services of the District are sewer, water, and fire protection. The Kane County Commission reserves the right to annex this area for the purposes of Fire protection only. A public hearing regarding the creation of this District shall be conducted at the Zion Ponderosa Resort Conference Room, located at the Zion Ponderosa Resort 5 miles up North Fork Road Mt Carmel UT, 84755. 6:00 p.m. on June 8, 2021. The call in number is (800) 791-2345; conference code: 59013. All interested persons may attend and be heard, regarding the proposed annexation. Protests against the proposed annexation will be accepted by the Board of Kane County Commissioners before 5:00 PM on or before August 9, 2021 All protests must be received in writing care of the County Clerk at 76 North Main, Kanab, UT 84741, and must explain the reason why the person is protesting. If protests are received from land owners that cover at least 25% of the total private land within the proposed annexation area, which land is also equal in value, to at least 15% of the value of all private real property within the annexation area, or protests are received from at least 25% of registered voters residing within the annexation area, as measured by the number of votes cast in the most recent general election for President of the United States, the Board of County Commissioners is obligated to abandon the annexation.
