5.2 Notice of Proposed 2020 Tax Increase in Conformance With 19 1266
Utah Code Ann. Section 59 2 919(3)(a).
The County of Salt Lake is proposing to increase its
property tax revenue. The County of Salt Lake tax on a
$368,000 residence would increase $33.60 per year. The
County of Salt Lake tax on a $368,000 business would
increase $61.09 per year. Purpose of the proposed increase is
to provide funding for services newly mandated by the State
of Utah, to provide for the operations of new or expanded
voter approved facilities in Salt Lake County government
and other essential government purposes. Approximate
percentage increase in property tax budgeted revenue would
be 8.72% above 2019 property tax budgeted revenue
excluding new growth.
