PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Mayor and members of the Town Council of the Town of Levan, Juab County, State of Utah, give notice that a vacancy in the Levan Town Council was created by the resignation of Clifford Christensen on July 2, 2019. They invite interested individuals to apply for this council position.
1. The mayor and remaining council members will hold a Special Council Meeting on Monday July 22, 2019, to make the appointment to fill the council position, at its regular meeting place, the Levan Town Hall, 20 North Main, Levan, Utah, at the hour of 5:30 P.M.
2. This position will be filled by appointment by the mayor and town council.
3. This appointment will be for the time period until January 2022, following the municipal election held in November of 2021.
4. Those interested in applying for the council position may submit their name to Elizabeth Hone, Levan Town Clerk, at the town office. The office hours are Mon. - Thurs. 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
5. The deadline for name submission is Monday July 22, 2019, at 12:30 P.M.
6. Those who have submitted their names need to attend the Special Town Council Meeting that night, Monday July 22, 2019 at 5:30 P.M. for an interview. The appointment will be made at that meeting.
7. Eligibility for the council position:
a. Be a United States citizen.
b. Be a registered voter of the municipality.
c. Be a resident of the municipality for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of appointment.
d. Not be a convicted felon, unless the right to hold elective office has been restored.
