PROVO CITY
NOTICE OF LAND AND WATER CONSERVATION FUND PROPERTY CONVERSION
The public is hereby notified that Provo City, located in Utah County, proposes to convert Timp-Kiwanis Bounous Park, a 10-acre piece of property obtained via Land and Water Conservation Funds (LWCF) in 1967. In order to be in compliance with LWCF rules, the LWCF designation is required to be applied to another property within Provo City if the proposal is accepted by the National Parks Service. The Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) associated with the proposal was released the end of July 2018 for initial review for a 30 day period. Comments were received during that time and are required to be addressed. The comments have been addressed and under LWCF rule the Draft EA is required to be released for an additional 30 day review period starting on October 3, 2018. A hard copy of the revised Draft EA will be available for public review in Customer Service at the Provo City Center with a digital copy available on the Provo Parks and Recreation website at the following link: http://provo.org/departments/parks/parks-projects. Written comments can be submitted with Customer Service at the City Center, via e-mail at tmckenna@provo.org, or via phone at 801-852-6643. Upon completion of the review, the revised Draft EA and replacement site will be presented to Provo City Council for potential approval. If it is approved, the proposal will be sent to the National Parks Service for consideration.
For further information, please contact Thomas McKenna, Provo City Parks and Recreation, at 801.852.6643 or tmckenna@provo.org.
