Description/Agenda
Notice is hereby given that the Washington City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. at Washington City Hall, located at 111 North 100 East, Washington, Utah. The meeting will also be broadcast via YouTube Live and may be accessed online at https://washingtonutah.gov/meetings.
On August 26, 2026, the Washington City Council adopted a Resolution indicating its intent to adjust the common municipal boundary between Washington City and St. George City in the area of Hilton Williams Drive.
The Public Hearing will be held to receive public comment regarding the proposed boundary adjustment and to consider an Ordinance approving the adjustment. The proposed adjustment would modify the existing municipal boundary so that the affected property currently located within Washington City would become part of St. George City.
The proposed boundary adjustment may be approved unless, at or before the Public Hearing, a written protest is filed with the Washington City Recorder by an owner of private real property located within the area proposed for adjustment whose property covers at least twenty-five percent (25%) of the total private land area within the area proposed for adjustment and is equal in value to at least fifteen percent (15%) of the value of all private real property within the area proposed for adjustment, or by an applicable title holder of state-owned real property, as provided by Utah Code ยง 10-2-903.
For additional information regarding the proposed boundary adjustment, including a map of the affected area, please contact the City Recorder's Office at (435) 656-6325 or email recorder@washingtonutah.gov.
Public comment regarding this matter may be submitted through the 'Items Available for Public Comment' portal at https://washingtonutah.gov/meetings. The public comment portal opens the Friday before the meeting and remains available until 5:00 P.M. on the day preceding the meeting. Virtual or in-person meeting attendance is also welcome.
