NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE
COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY
The COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY is proposing to increase its property tax
revenue.
The COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY tax on a $850,000 residence would
increase from $592.79 to $841.97, which is $249.18 per year.
The COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY tax on a $850,000 business would increase
from $1,077.80 to $1,530.85, which is $453.05 per year.
If the proposed budget is approved, COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY would
receive an additional $3,500,000 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the
tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY
would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 42.02% above last year's
property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.
The COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY invites all concerned citizens to a public
hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase
and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to
attend or participate in the public hearing in person or virtually.

participation in the public hearing will be available at
https://www.cottonwoodheights.utah.gov/ no later than 24 hours before the
public hearing is scheduled to begin.

If you would like to submit written comments on any agenda item they should be received no later than Tuesday at noon. Comments can be emailed to cityrecorder@ch.utah.gov.
Notice of Electronic or Telephone Participation
Council Members may participate in the meeting via telephonic communication. If a Council Member does participate via telephonic communication, the Councilmember will be on speakerphone. The speakerphone will be amplified so that the other Council Members can hear.
