NOTICE OF COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS TRUTH IN TAXATION MEETING AGENDA
Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Truth in Taxation Business Meeting beginning at approximately 6:00 p.m., or soon thereafter, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Chambers located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The public may remotely view the open portions of the meeting through live broadcast by connecting to https://www.youtube.com/@CottonwoodHeights/streams, the city's YouTube channel.
Persons attending the meeting virtually may provide (a) oral testimony through video, audio, or both video and audio connection by registering for the Zoom Webinar using the instructions provided below; or (b) written comments electronically through the City's Public Comment portal using the instructions provided below.
Civility and decorum should be applied in all discussions and debates. Difficult questions, tough challenges to a point of view, and criticism of ideas and information are legitimate elements of a free democracy in action. Public officials and the public are encouraged to refrain from making belligerent, personal, impertinent, slanderous, threatening, abusive, or disparaging comments.

- If the meeting has not started, you will be placed in a waiting room until the webinar begins.
- When the Mayor opens the public hearing, click Raise Hand to request an opportunity to speak.
- When it is your turn to speak:
Your hand will be lowered by the meeting host.

City staff cannot troubleshoot personal devices or microphone settings.
- Once unmuted, staff will confirm they can hear you. Please state your name and address for the public record. Your three-minute comment period will begin after your introduction.

3.1 Public Hearing on Proposed Property Tax Increase on Real and Personal Property within the city of Cottonwood Heights Made Taxable by Utah Law for the Period of 1 July 2026 through 30 June 2027 Pursuant to UTAH CODE ANN. §59-2-919.
4.0 ACTION ITEMS
4.1 Consideration of Ordinance 2026-471 Adopting the Final Tax Levy and Rate Pursuant to UTAH CODE ANN. §10-6-133 on Real and Personal Property within the city of Cottonwood Heights made taxable by Utah Law for the Period of 1 July 2026 through 30 June 2027 following Completion of the Requirements under UTAH CODE ANN. §§59-2-919 and 59-2-924.
(This ordinance adopts a final tax levy and rate for fiscal year 2026-27 after considering public input and other available information including comments from a public hearing on August 11, 2026).
4.2 Consideration of Ordinance 2026-472 Adopting the Final Budget for the city of Cottonwood Heights for the period of 1 July 2026 through 30 June 2027 Pursuant to UTAH CODE ANN. §10-6-118 following adoption of the Final Tax Levy and Rate and Directing Completion of Related Actions.
(This ordinance adopts the fiscal year 2026-27 final budget for the city of Cottonwood Heights after considering public input from a 2 June 2026 public hearing on the tentative budget and all other available information. The adopted final budget includes additional budgeted property tax revenue of $3.5 million and makes all related appropriations, subject to subsequent amendment. With adoption of a final budget, the interim budget adopted on June 16, 2026, is no longer in effect).

On Thursday, July 16, 2026, a copy of the foregoing notices was posted in conspicuous view in the front foyer of the Cottonwood Heights City Offices, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. The agendas were also posted on the City's website at www.ch.utah.gov and the Utah Public Notice website at http://pmn.utah.gov.
