Bluff Water Works Special Service District Meeting Minutes for Mar 11, 2026 Called meeting to order: 7:03 In attendance: Marx Powell, Amer Tumeh, Mike Yearous, Brandt Hart, Steve Simpson, Absent: Jennifer Davila Audience:Josh Ewing, Approval of minutes: Simpson: motions to approve the minutes with changes discussed Yearus: seconds Passes unanimously Community Input: Josh Ewing let the BWW know that the TOB council had decided to move forward with some secondary water exploration. Patrick McDermott will be heading up a group to explore some options for developing a secondary water program. Yearous asked if that would help protect the 500 acre feet of river water rights. Powell said that he had been looking into the water rights and they are already in the town name and he felt it was a step in the right direction. Culinary Water: Powell: The system is running well, he will take water samples to Moab in order for them to get turned in on time. We cannot mail from Bluff, Blanding or Monticello and get there on time. We are trying to talk someone into open a lab in Blanding to get them processed. Meter installations are continuing to go well. We now have 3 certified water operators. Kristen Bushnell and Antonio Davila both are working with Benny as a mentor to get fully certified level 3 certification. It will take 2 years to complete the process. Unfinished Business: Water Meter Applications: None Meter Report: Simpson asked about Nielson payment for the damage with the road construction Powell: Nielson Construction still hasn't paid for the repairs. Bills to Pay: See Treasures Report Simpson motions to pay the bills as presented Hart seconds the motion Passes unanimously Simpson motions to reimburse Bushnell and Davila for training and lodging costs for Water Certification not to exceed $3500.00 Tumeh seconds the motion Passes unanimously Other: none Next meeting: April 8th, 2026 Meeting adjourned: 7:20
