Town of Hideout Notice of Certification and Legislative Notice of Annexation Petition (Prepared pursuant to Utah Code §§ 10-2-807 and 10-2-808) Date of Certification: October 11, 2025 Petition Name: Hideout Mountain Village Petitioner(s): John Travis and Terese Walton ________________________________________ Notice of Certification Pursuant to Utah Code § 10-2-807(3), the Recorder for the Town of Hideout certified that the annexation petition proposing the annexation of certain real property to the Town of Hideout met all statutory requirements. The petition was accepted by the Town Council for further consideration on September 9, 2025. A complete copy of the annexation petition, including the legal description and map of the area proposed for annexation, is made available for public inspection and copying at the office of the Town Recorder, 10860 N Hideout Trail, Hideout, Utah, during regular business hours. ________________________________________ Legislative Notice (Notice by the Municipal Legislative Body Pursuant to Utah Code § 10-2-808) The Hideout Town Council, acting as the municipal legislative body, provides notice as follows: 1. Certification Date. The annexation petition was certified on October 11, 2025. 2. Area Proposed for Annexation. The petition proposed annexation of the following area: Wasatch County Parcel Numbers 00-0020-3511 and 00-0020-3510 3. Availability of Petition. The complete annexation petition is available for inspection and copying at the office of the Town Recorder, 10860 N Hideout Trail, Hideout, Utah 84036. 4. Protest Rights. The Town of Hideout may grant the petition and annex the area described in the petition unless, no later than Monday, November 10, 2025, a written protest to the annexation petition is: - filed with the Wasatch County Boundary Commission, care of the Wasatch County Clerk, 25 N Main Street, Heber City, Utah 84032; and - a copy of the protest is delivered to the Hideout Town Recorder, 10860 N Hideout Trail, Hideout, Utah 84036, on the same day the protest is filed. 5. How to File a Protest. A protest to this annexation petition may be filed only by (1) the governing body of an affected entity, (2) an owner of rural real property located within the area proposed for annexation, or (3) an owner of private real property located within a mining protection area, as provided in Utah Code § 10-2-810(1). To file a protest, submit a written statement no later than 30 days after the day of certification to the Wasatch County Clerk, 25 N Main Street, Heber City, Utah 84032. The protest must: 1. state each reason for protesting the annexation petition and the justification for the protest; 2. include any relevant information or documentation; and 3. provide the name and mailing address of a contact person to receive notices from the Boundary Commission. On the same day the protest is filed with the County Clerk, a copy must also be delivered or mailed to the Hideout Town Recorder, 10860 N Hideout Trail, Hideout, Utah 84036. Special District Inclusion or Withdrawal. The area proposed for annexation would, as applicable: o be automatically annexed to a special district providing fire protection, paramedic, and emergency services or a special district providing law enforcement service, as the case may be, as provided in Utah State Code § 17B-1-416, if: Hideout is entirely within the boundaries of a special district: - that provides fire protection, paramedic, and emergency services or law enforcement service, respectively; and - in the creation of which an election was not required because of Utah State Code Subsection § 17B-1-214(3)(c); and the area proposed to be annexed to Hideout is not already within the boundaries of the special district o be automatically withdrawn from any special district providing fire protection, paramedic, and emergency services or a special district providing law enforcement service, as the case may be, as provided in Utah State Code Subsection § 17B-1-502(2), if: the petition proposes the annexation of an area that is within the boundaries of a special district: - that provides fire protection, paramedic, and emergency services or law enforcement service, respectively; and - in the creation of which an election was not required because of Utah State Code Subsection 17B-1-214(3)(c); and Hideout is not within the boundaries of the special district. ________________________________________ All notices include the certification date and the exact protest deadline, and a copy is posted on the Utah Public Notice Website.
