Protecting Mountain Green:
Investing in Fire Safety for our Future
We want to extend our deepest appreciation to the community that stands behind our first responder, providing the vital support we need.
The Mountain Green Fire Protection District has not had a tax increase since 2018, but the costs of operating and maintaining essential emergency services have steadily risen. With inflation, increased wages, staffing needs, higher equipment and fuel costs, and growing demands from a rapidly growing community, current funding no longer meets the departments needs. Raising taxes will ensure fire fighters have up-to-date training, reliable vehicles, and the proper staff to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. Without additional support, the department risks falling behind in its ability to protect lives and property.
NOTICE OF PROPOSED TAX INCREASE
MOUNTAIN GREEN FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT

The MOUNTAIN GREEN FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT tax on a $440,000 business would increase from $196.68 to $334.40, which is $137.72 per year. ($11.74/mo.)
If the proposed budget is approved, MOUNTAIN GREEN FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT would receive an additional $288,056 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, MOUNTAIN GREEN FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 70.02% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth.
