Housed in the Department of Economic Development, the Business Advisory Board seeks to encourage economic development and target industry relocation within City boundaries. The board also helps direct City economic policy, promote small business growth, support local entrepreneurship, and assist the City in remaining responsive to the business community.
Business Advisory Board meetings are held in a hybrid meeting format. Board Members and staff may participate through an online format, and members of the public may join in person at the City & County Building: 451 South State Street, Room 335, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.

Commander Bill Manzanares or Lieutenant Jeffrey North from the Salt Lake City Police
Department will provide an update to and answer questions from the Board
4. Briefings by the Staff 5 minutes
a. Report from the Deputy Director.
Mr. Makowski, Business Development Deputy Director, will introduce Colin Gibbs,
Business Development Division Director, Colin Gibbs, Business Development Division
Director will provide updates on the work of the Department of Economic Development
to the Board.
5. Business Items
a. Ballpark Next Community Design Plan 20 minutes
Lauren Parisi, Senior Project Manager with the Community Reinvestment Agency,
will present the Ballpark Next Community Design Plan to the Board.
b. Main Street Fire Employee Relief Fund
Kristen Lavelett, Business Development Manager at the Downtown Alliance, will 5 minutes
report on the fundraising and distribution of funds from the Main Street Fire
Employee Relief Fund.
c. Michelin Guide to Salt Lake City 15 minutes
Alfonso Brito, Board Member, will present a proposal to bring the Michelin Guide
to Salt Lake City to the Board.
