PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
The Iron County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and consider action (recommendation) during their regularly scheduled meeting, on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Festival Hall located at 105 North 100 East, Cedar City, Utah. The County Commission will hold a public hearing and consider action at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, September 8, 2025, 10:00 AM, at the Iron County Courthouse located at 68 S 100 E, Parowan, Utah. The hearings are to receive public comment on proposed revisions and amendments to the Iron County Land Use Code - Ordinance 2025-7, An Ordinance of Iron County amending Section 17.16.030 - Table of Uses, Section 12.12.030 - Fees (Encroachment Permits), and adding Section 16.28.015 - Plat amendment required for full boundary adjustment, and providing an effective date.
Considerations that make the 'light industrial use' a conditional use in the RA-20 zoning district, requiring a plat amendment when a 'full boundary adjustment' is contemplated in accordance with recent Utah Code provisions, specifically Section 17-27a-522, and removing the conflicting language related to fees outlined for encroachment permits.
