The State of Utah DHHS and Local Public Health Governance Committee Meeting Approve Minutes: July 7th, 2025 Grant Title Executive Committee Review Description Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG) Period: 10/1/2025 to 9/30/2026 $1,668,725 Due: 7/25/2025 Needs Review The Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG) was reviewed by HPAP Exec. in May and July and has received a favorable recommendation to Governance. The Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant (PHHSBG) is funding for critical public health programs and infrastructure. Funds are allowed to address local and state needs. The focus of PHHSBG funds has been centered around prevention. The state health objective is to decrease the percentage of Utah Adults who report fair or poor general health from 14.5% to 12% through local health department strategies centered around social determinants of health. Rules Review/Discussion: Rule # Rule Name Topic Other Agenda Items: Other Agenda Topic Discussion Includes Notes Updates to the Blood Lead Disease Plan Melissa Stevens Dimond Epi/Informatics Exec group discussed updates to the blood lead disease plan. The group unanimously approved the plan with incorporation of changes discussed during the meeting. Review contingency plans for the Epidemiology & Laboratory Capacity (ELC) and Environmental Public Health Tracking Program (EPTHP) grants.
