- The State of Utah DHHS and Local Public Health Governance Committee Meeting Approve Minutes: February 20th, 2024 Grant Title Executive Committee Review Program In Attendance Description Overdose Data to Action in Utah Application that has received a favorable recommendation from the HPAP Exec. group. Teresa Brechlin Period: 9/1/24 to 8/31/25 Application Due: 2/29/2024 Grant Status: Exempt Grant Type: New (Year 1) Application Year 1: $2,710,977 This is a new cycle of funding and while local health departments did receive funding in the past cycle the CDC requirements for that funding has changed and will require navigating people who use drugs with harm reduction services and treatment. An RFP is being finalized for approval now and if LHD's would like to do that direct work, they can apply. CDC took over 1.6 million of Utah's funding to put into an RFP specifically for locals. SLCoHD was the only Utah LHD that was funded for that work. Rules Review/Discussion: Rule # Rule Name Topic R392-304 Artificial Swimming Lagoons Here is the motion from the Environmental Health Executive Committee: Send Pool Rule to Governance with favorable recommendation with the caveat that if the cold plunge bill passes, we will match the language before we send it for EDO approval. The cold plunge bath pill has passed, so that language will be incorporated. R386-702 Communicable Disease Rule Epi/Informatics Executive committee has reviewed the proposed amendment for R386-702 and unanimously recommends approval by Governance. Other Agenda Items: Other Agenda Topic Requested By Notes Salmonella Disease Plan Review/Ratification Melissa Stevens Dimond Epi/Informatics Exec group met on Wed Feb 14 and unanimously approved the Salmonella disease plan which has gone through flow 1 of the disease plan update process; we request and recommend ratification by Governance.
