Upheaval Dome in Canyonlands National Park, Utah, is a colorful circular "belly button," unique among the broad mesas and deep canyons of the Colorado Plateau. The rim of Upheaval Dome is 3 miles across and over 1000 feet above the core floor. The central peak in the core is 3000 feet in diameter and rises 750 feet from the floor.

To ensure that proposed school building sites are investigated for potential geologic hazards, the Utah State Office of Education (USOE) recommends a preliminary site screening evaluation by the Utah Geological Survey (UGS), the preparation of detailed geologic-hazard reports by professional consultants (employing Utah licensed geologists) retained by the school district, and subsequent review of those geologic-hazard reports by the UGS.

The report evaluates the quality of performance for selected Utah health plans covering more than 900,000 members across the state-roughly 40.0% of the insured.

Each year in Utah, there is an overwhelming amount of money spent on medical bills to treat bicyclists and pedestrians who have been involved in a crash involving a motor vehicle. In 2007, hospital and emergency charges totaled more than $8.4 million to treat bicycle injuries and nearly $7.5 million to treatpedestrian injuries. All highway safety issues are covered in the 53-page 2009 Highway Safety Report.
