Governor Issues Statement on Father's Day

SALT LAKE CITY – Governor Gary R. Herbert released the following statement today in observance of Father's Day:
SALT LAKE CITY – In response to an emergency request from Colorado's governor, Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert has authorized the deployment of Utah National Guard troops and helicopters to help fight wildfires raging near Colorado Springs.
SALT LAKE CITY – In accordance with Utah Code Ann. 20A-14-105, Governor Gary R. Herbert is seeking nominees for District 6 of the Utah State School Board.
Salt Lake City, UT - The 2nd District Judicial Nominating Commission has scheduled a meeting for June 19, 2013 at noon to review applications of individuals interested in filling the judicial vacancy resulting from the pending retirement of Judge Michael D. Lyon. The Commission will meet in the multi-purpose room of the district courthouse in Ogden located at 2525 Grant Avenue.

SALT LAKE CITY - Applications are now being accepted for the position of judge of the Utah Court of Appeals. This position results from the pending retirement of Judge William A. Thorne, Jr., effective September 15, 2013.
Governor Appoints Third District Court Judge

SALT LAKE CITY - Today Governor Gary R. Herbert appointed Paul B. Parker to fill a vacancy on the Third District Court bench. The Third District Court encompasses Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele counties.
