                NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY

RE:  Proposed December 2011 Service Changes


UTA is proposing several service changes to local bus service in Utah County.  A Public Hearing will be held to discuss these proposed changes.  Two hearings will be held at separate locations.  Most changes are being proposed due to low budget funds and increased costs.

Utah County:  Provo City Library, 550 No. University Ave, 
in the Brimhall Room, number 302,
from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, 28 September 2011.

Salt Lake County:  Sandy City Hall, 10000 Centennial Parkway,
 in the Multi-Purpose Room,
from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, 29 September 2011.

At the hearing, the Utah Transit Authority will provide an opportunity for citizens, private transportation providers, public officials and interested agencies to comment on the proposed changes.  To be included as part of the Public Hearing record, all comments must be postmarked or received by UTA no later than October 6, 2011.  

THE FORMAT FOR THE PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
Open House to review and discuss proposal with UTA representatives (First 30 minutes)
Presentation by UTA representative regarding proposal (Immediately following Open House)
Public comment period (Immediately following presentation)

To assure full participation at the hearing, accommodations for effective communication such as sign language interpreters or printed materials in alternative formats, or a language interpreter for non-English speaking participants, must be requested at least five (5) working days prior to the date of the scheduled event.  Requests for ADA accommodations should be directed to UTA ADA Compliance Officer at 801-287-3536 or dial 711 to make a relay call for deaf or hearing impaired persons. Proposals are as follows:
UTA is proposing several service changes designed to improve bus routes in the local-Utah County area.  A Public Hearing will be held to discuss the following proposals:  Service reductions and alignment changes Route 811 and route alignment changes for the Route 830.  Also, an additional informational item to be covered is new limited local bus service for Santaquin City. 


Service Reductions and alignment changes for Route 811
 
Route 811 will no longer serve State Street in Draper between 12300 South and 10000 South.  The Route 811 will still serve the Sandy TRAX Station.  Route 201 will now serve this corridor weekday and Saturday but not Sunday.  

Route 811 will no longer offer service south of the Timpanogos Transit Center. There will be no Route 811 service between the University Mall and 21 East and 200 South in Provo. The Route 811 will now only offer service along the corridor between the Timpanogos Transit Center at the University Mall in Orem and the TRAX Station in Sandy at designated stops.   

Service corridor realignment for Route 830 in Provo:

Route 830 will no longer use 200 North between University Avenue and 400 East in Provo. Route 830 will now use 100 North between University Avenue and 400 East in Provo.  

Additional information items:

New limited local bus service to Santaquin City:

The Route 822 will be extended to serve Santaquin residents with limited local fixed route service connections to Payson and points north along the route 822 alignment. 
 
Informational items:

Relevant information about the proposed changes will be available at the Public Hearing or may be reviewed at the UTA Orem office, 1110 South Geneva Road, until October 6, 2011.  Comments must be postmarked or received by UTA no later than October 6, 2011 to be part of the Public Hearing record.
