A drainage area will also be enclosed. UDOT will reimburse the District for any expenses incurred. Amount of the recommended bid is $253,345.00. B. Districtwide – School Bus Surveillance System Discussion and possible action to approve bid for surveillance systems in 157 older District school buses to make them compatible with newer system technology. Amount of recommended quote is $397,910.00. C. Districtwide – Elevator Maintenance Discussion and possible action to approve bid for scheduled maintenance for 23 elevators within the District to assure maximum performance and reduce elevator downtime. Recommendation to Approve Revisions to Policy DP302 Substitute Teachers Dr. June LeMaster, Administrator of Human Resources Discussion and possible action on revisions to policy DP302 Substitute Teachers which establishes a minimum age and number of credit hours needed to qualify as a substitute teacher for Jordan School District. 1. Recommendation to Approve Revisions to Policy DE 502 Volunteer Services Dr. June LeMaster, Administrator of Human Resources Discussion and possible action on revisions to Policy DE 502 Volunteer Services to revise the administrative policy guidelines for volunteers in Jordan School District schools. 1. Public Input Regarding Proposed Revisions to Policy DE 502 Volunteer Services The Board will take public comment on proposed revisions to policy DE 502 Volunteer Services in accordance with policy A8 Public Participation at School Board Meetings. 2. Action by Board of Education on Recommendation to Approve Revisions to Policy DE 502 Volunteer Services D. Recommendation to Approve Implementation of Policy Governance for the Board of Education Mr. Rick Bojak, Board President Possible action to approve implementation of the Policy Governance model for the Board of Education to provide a differentiation between governance and management responsibilities in Jordan School District. 1. Public Input Regarding the Recommendation to Approve Implementation of Policy Governance for the Board of Education The Board will take public comment on the implementation of the Policy Governance model for the Board of Education. 2. Action by Board of Education on Recommendation Approve Implementation of Policy Governance for the Board of Education E. Burke Jolley, Administrator of Schools Mr. John Taylor, Administrator of Auxiliary Services Mr. Herb Jensen, Director, Transportation Discussion on new policy BP179 Advertising on School Buses which establishes guidelines for paid advertising on school buses as allowed by House Bill 199, and in compliance with Utah State Office of Education rule. 1. Public Input Regarding New Policy BP 179 Advertising on School Buses The Board will take public comment on BP179 Advertising on School Buses in accordance with policy A8 Public Participation at School Board Meetings. B. New Policy AS97 Management of Concussions and Traumatic Head Injuries Mr. Anthony Godfrey, Administrator of Schools Discussion on new policy AS97 Management of Concussions and Traumatic Head Injuries which establishes policy and guidelines for school staff to respond to concussions and traumatic head injuries that may occur during sports events, physical education or other physical activities. Policy is in compliance with HB204 S 1 Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries. 1. Public Input Regarding New Policy AS97 Management of Concussions and Traumatic Head Injuries The Board will take public comment on new policy AS97 Management of Concussions and Traumatic Head Injuries in accordance with policy A8 Public Participation at School Board Meetings. C. Patron Comments The Board will take public comment in accordance with policy A8 Public Participation at School Board Meetings. D. Comments by Board Members VI. Adjourn POTENTIAL CLOSED STUDY SESSION 8:30 p.m. A. Student Appeal In the event the student appeal is not completed in the Closed Session preceding the Board Meeting, the Board of Education will return to a Closed Session to complete its deliberation. At the end of the Closed Session, the Board will return to the regular Board Meeting to take action regarding the appeal. |
