II.	Bids

A.	Columbia Elementary School – Playground and Drainage Upgrade 
Discussion and possible action to approve bid for relocating two playpits and playground due to changes in the Bangerter Highway that will necessitate using approximately 30 feet of the west side of the Columbia Elementary School property.  A drainage area will also be enclosed.  UDOT will reimburse the District for any expenses incurred. Amount of the recommended bid is $253,345.00.

B.	Districtwide – School Bus Surveillance System
Discussion and possible action to approve bid for surveillance systems in 157 older District school buses to make them compatible with newer system technology.  Amount of recommended quote is $397,910.00.

C.	Districtwide – Elevator Maintenance
Discussion and possible action to approve bid for scheduled maintenance for 23 elevators within the District to assure maximum performance and reduce elevator downtime.  Amount of recommended bid is $100,158.79 (5-year period).

Possible action to approve the negotiated agreement for the current school year for licensed employees.

 	minimum age and number of credit hours needed to qualify as a substitute teacher for Jordan 
 	School District.

 	administrative policy guidelines for volunteers in Jordan School District schools.

Possible action to approve implementation of the Policy Governance model for the Board of Education to provide a differentiation between governance and management responsibilities in Jordan School District.

      Discussion on new policy AS97 Management of Concussions and Traumatic Head Injuries which 
 	establishes policy and guidelines for school staff to respond to concussions and traumatic 
 	head injuries that may occur during sports events, physical education or other physical activities.  
 	Policy is in compliance with HB204 S 1 Protection of Athletes with Head Injuries.

A.	 	Student Appeal
In the event the student appeal is not completed in the Closed Session preceding the Board Meeting, the Board of Education will return to a Closed Session to complete its deliberation.  At the end of the Closed Session, the Board will return to the regular Board Meeting to take action regarding the appeal.
