2. Introductions of St. George guests and brief comments - Christina Schultz
One of the items in the Kanab Arts Council Strategic Plan was to establish relationships with other arts organizations in the region. A small delegation from the St. George area will be joining this month’s Kanab Arts Council Meeting. Ms. Schultz will make introductions and provide brief comments regarding their visit and resources.
3. Overview of the Sears Gallery - Kathy Cieslewicz
4. Discussion of Arts Education In Kanab - Josh Baird
The purpose of this item is to introduce Janet O’Riley to the Kanab Arts Council and specifically to Josh Baird who is the team leader for the Kanab Arts Council’s Arts Education effort. Ms. O’Riley is very interested in working with the Kanab Arts Council to offer Dixie State College continuing education courses in the arts in Kanab. Mr. Baird is exploring the potential for offering a private arts education initiative in the community.
5. Discussion of Arts Fairs and Art Walks - Mickie Bolling-Burke,
Adreanna Pederson
The Kanab Arts Council is in the early stages of exploring two annual art fairs and a series of art walks. Mickie Bolling-Burke is assuming the lead in these activities. Kathy Cieslewicz from the Sears Gallery and Alicia Tolman, director of the St. George Arts Walk are available to provide their perspective. Michelle Day from the Kanab Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to indicate the Chamber’s interest in working with the Kanab Arts Council to encourage these activities in the downtown business area.
6. Presentation of Website Concept - Adreanna Pedersen
Adreanna Pederson will present a concept for a community arts website. The Kanab Arts Council will be asked to dedicate $500 from the current year’s advertising budget to the development of this site and to participate in a cultural assessment that will result in an additional $1,000 being generated and dedicated to the project by CEBA.
7. Update on Literary Journal - Vicki Hooper
Vicki Hooper will discussion production costs for the journal and ask for support for integrating the events calendar with the journal.
8. Discussion of How to Gather Events Information for the Events Calendar - Ed Meyer
9. Schedule Tour of Potential Gazebo Sites - Ed Meyer
