KLONDIKE LANDFILL TEMPORARY CHANGE IN HOURS OF OPERATIONS AND OTHER FACILITY UPDATES

Grand County, Utah - March 27, 2020: Due to reduced material volumes related to COVID-19, the Klondike Landfill will be reverting to its winter hours of operations. Beginning on Monday, March 30, 2020, the Klondike Landfill will be OPEN to franchised, commercial haulers from 8am to 1pm, Monday through Friday until further notice. 

The Moab Community Recycle Center (CRC) remains CLOSED to the public as a preventative measure to protect our staff and the public. Due to the collection method at the CRC, handling inbound material is very 'hands on' and requires routine direct contact to manage. An effort is being made to identify a way to reopen the CRC that provides reasonable safeguards to our staff and the public. Members of the public who utilize the CRC for recycling are encouraged to stockpile their recyclables at home until the CRC reopens. Commercial customers with established charged accounts can continue to deliver cardboard to the CRC during regular business hours.

The Solid Waste District's office remains CLOSED to the public. Staff are available to answer questions and conduct regular business by phone at (435) 259-3867.

The Moab Landfill remains OPEN to residential and commercial customers during its normal hours of operations. Staff are utilizing personal protective equipment, including disposable gloves, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant sprays as a preventative measure to protect our staff and landfill customers.
