8.4.	PRESENTATION - Catherine (Cathy) Whittaker, Ms. Utah Senior America 2018
Catherine Garrick Whittaker was born and raised in Provo, Utah and has lived throughout Utah Valley her entire life. She has been a registered nurse for 45 years in various medical specialties/settings, from labor and delivery to maternal fetal medicine. She has personally helped bring over 3,000 babies into the world.

Cathy is also passionate about volunteering in hospice, helping individuals pass on from this earth. She believes life is to be enjoyed, and lives hers to its fullest by serving others and giving of her personal strengths and gifts.

Cathy graduated from Provo High School and then Brigham Young University. She is the proud mother of three children who have each provided her with three grandchildren a piece! Cathy is married to John Whittaker and they live with their dog Bojo in Orem, Utah.

10.	SCHEDULED ITEMS

10.1.	6:00 P.M. PUBLIC HEARING - General Obligation Bond - Family Fitness Center and Community Library Hall

The City shall hold a public hearing on October 9, 2018, at the hour of 6:00 p.m. in the City offices, located at 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah.  All members of the public are invited to attend and participate.  Equal time will be allowed to hear comments 'For' and 'Against' the Bond Proposal. 

The Public Hearing will be regarding the issuance of not to exceed $24,500,000 General Obligation Bonds to finance all or a portion of the costs to acquire, construct, furnish, and equip renovations, additions and improvements to the City's Family Fitness Center, including family friendly changing rooms, family oriented facilities, a suspended track and all ancillary and related improvements, and (b) acquire, construct, furnish and equip a community Library Hall at the City Center campus, including all ancillary and related improvements.  

The City Council will receive input from the public regarding (1) The issuance of the Bonds; and (2) The potential economic impact that the improvements paid for by the Bonds will have on the private sector.

ORDINANCE - Enacting Sections 22-24-2 (Hub District Zone), 22-24-3 (Canyon Crossing Zone), 22-24-4 (The Arts District Zone), 22-24-5 (North Village District Zone) and amending Sections 14-4-4 (Modification of Requirements); 22-5-3(A) and the Zoning Map of Orem City by changing the zoning of properties located within the State Street district boundaries from the C2, PD-39, PD-40, PD-37, R6, C3, R6.5, C1, and R8 zones to the State Street District Zones

The City Council enact, by ordinance, Sections 22-24-2 (Hub District Zone), 22-24-3 (Canyon Crossing Zone), 22-24-4 (The Arts District Zone), 22-24-5 (North Village District Zone) and amend Sections 14-4-4 (Modification of Requirements); 22-5-3(A) and the Zoning Map of Orem City by changing the zoning of properties located within the State Street district boundaries from the C2, PD-39, PD-40, PD-37, R6, C3, R6.5, C1, and R8 zones to the State Street District Zones.

The City Council will hold the following public hearing on October 9, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the City of Orem Council Chambers, located at 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah, to consider the following:

-	Zoning Ordinance - Enacting Sections 22-24-2 (Hub District Zone), 22-24-3 (Canyon Crossing Zone), 22-24-4 (The Arts District Zone), 22-24-5 (North Village District Zone) and amending Sections 22-2-1 (Definitions); 14-3-3 (Specific Regulations by Sign Type); 14-4-4 (Modification of Requirements); 22-5-3(A) and the Zoning Map of Orem City by changing the zoning of properties located within the State Street district boundaries from the C2, PD-39, PD-40, PD-37, R6, C3, R6.5, C1, and R8 zones to the State Street District Zones.

The proposed ordinance is available in the Office of Development Services, Room #109, 56 North State Street, Orem, Utah.  If you have any questions regarding the proposed zone change or amendments, contact the Development Services Department at 229 7058.
