The Military Installation Development Authority ('MIDA') was created by the Utah Legislature in 2007 to facilitate the development of military land in Utah. MIDA and the military are interested in the development of a Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Hotel as part of a military recreation facility ('MRF') in Wasatch County. In order for MIDA to assist the development, a project area must be created. In September 2012, MIDA created the MRF Project Area - Part 1. MIDA is proposing to amend the Part 1 project area plan and add to it Part 2.
A necessary step in the process of creating or amending a project area is the preparation of a draft project area plan. Attached is the 'Draft Military Recreation Facility Project Area Plan - Part 2' dated July 2018 ('Part 2 Draft Project Area Plan'). As required by law, this notice of the public meeting of the MIDA Board to consider and discuss the Part 2 Draft Project Area Plan is being sent to each taxing entity and any municipality that is located within one-half mile of the proposed project area. The meeting will be held on August 2, 2018 beginning at 9:00 am at the Haven Barlow Board Room, Davis Applied Technology College, 550 East 300 South, Kaysville, Utah.
Comments regarding the Part 2 Draft Project Area Plan will be accepted during the public meeting, or written comments can be sent to the address below or e-mailed to Paul Morris at paultmorris@outlook.com. Or you may call Paul at 801-949-2602.
At the public meeting, after considering and discussing the Part 2 Draft Project Area Plan, the board may make any modifications that the board considers necessary or appropriate and adopt the Part 2 Draft Project Area Plan as the final project area plan.
