Description/Agenda: | LEGAL NOTICE – UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) have prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the proposed Draper Transit Corridor project. The DEIS describes the transportation and environmental impacts associated with the project alternatives. The build alternatives would extend light-rail transit along the UTA-owned railroad right-of-way starting at the TRAX Sandy Civic Center Station at 10000 South in Sandy and ending at either Draper Town Center (12400 South) for the minimum operable segment (MOS), or 14600 South in Draper for the full build alternative. Three stations are planned for the MOS and five stations are planned for the full-build alternative. The proposed project would involve constructing new track along the existing railroad corridor and constructing park-and-ride lots at the stations. The DEIS was signed by the FTA on December 4, 2009, and is now available for public review. The public comment period will begin on December 18, 2009 and conclude on February 5, 2010. Comments on the DEIS must be postmarked, e-mailed, or faxed to the Draper Transit Corridor Project by February 5, 2010.
