Southeastern Utah District Health Department will hold a public hearing to regulate the sale of e-juice (the substance consumed through e-cigarettes).  The hearing will be held at the Health Office in each county at 12 noon, and will provide everyone in attendance the opportunity to comment.  The following is the schedule for each county: (Carbon) –Price Office, 28 South 100 East – Monday, Nov. 17
 				(Emery) – Castle Dale Office, 25 West Main – Tues. Nov. 18
				(Grand) – Moab, 575 So. Kane Creek Blvd. – Wed. Nov. 19
				(San Juan) – Blanding, 196 E. Center St. – Thurs. Nov. 20

We are ratifying Title 26, Section 38, R392-510; Title 76, Section 10-104 & 105.  These regulations are being adopted under the authority of the Southeastern District Board of Health. 
The Southeastern Utah Board of Health proposes that no one under 19 be allowed to possess or buy e-liquids.  Those who break this law will be charged with a class B misdemeanor.  A second violation within two years of a prior conviction would lead to a class A misdemeanor charge.
 Debbie Marvidikis, Tobacco program manager, stated this is an important step in addressing and preventing our youth from using e-cigarettes.  Statistics show that the use of e-cigarettes among youth tripled statewide from 2011 to 2013 according to the report from the Utah Department of Health.
