NOTICE INVITING BIDS
RECEIPT OF BIDS: Sealed Bids will be received at the office of MIDVALLEY
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, Owner of the Work, located at: 160 East 7800 South, Midvale,
Utah 84047 until 10:00 am, on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, for construction of the
MIDVALLEY SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT PROJECT. Any Bids received after the
specified time will not be considered. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that
time.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: An electronic copy of the Contract Documents
may be by obtained by emailing the office of the Engineer: Bowen, Collins & Associates, at
grasmusen@bowencollins.com after 8:00 am on Monday, July 8, 2013.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The Work includes construction of 1,005 feet of 15-inch sewer
pipe, boring 24-inch steel casing within private property 268 feet by trench less construction,
installing 7 sewer manholes, asphalt, gravel road, and unimproved restoration, and
appurtenant work, in accordance with the Contract Documents.
SITE OF WORK: The project site is located between 7660 South and 7800 South, along
50 East in Midvale, Utah 84047.
PRE-BID MEETING: A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday,
July 16, 2013 at the office of Midvalley Improvement District (MID), Owner of the Work,
located at 160 East 7800 South, Midvale, Utah 84047.
BID SECURITY: Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check, or bid
bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price payable to MIDVALLEY
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT as a guarantee that the Bidder, if his Bid is accepted, will
promptly execute the contract, provide evidence of insurance, and furnish a satisfactory
faithful performance bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total bid price and a payment
bond in the amount of 100 percent of the total bid price.
ADDRESS AND MARKING OF BID: The envelope enclosing the Bid shall be sealed and
addressed to the MIDVALLEY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT. The envelope shall be plainly
marked in the upper left-hand corner with the name and address of the Bidder and shall
bear the words "Bid for," followed by the title of the Contract Documents for the Work and
the date and hour of opening of Bids. The certified or cashier's check, or Bidder's bond
shall be enclosed in the same envelope with the Bid.

PROJECT ADMINISTRATION: All questions relative to this project prior to the opening of
Bids shall be directed to the ENGINEER for the project.

It shall be understood, however, that no interpretations of the drawings or specifications will
be made except in writing signed by the Engineer, nor will any "or equal" products be
considered for approval prior to award of a contract.
OWNER'S RIGHTS RESERVED: The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to
waive any informality in a Bid, and to make awards in the interest of the Owner.
