NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY

RE:  Proposed August 2013 Service Changes

UTA is proposing bus service adjustments to routes 201 and 525.

One public hearing will be held to discuss the proposed changes.  

Salt Lake County Hearing Location

When:  Thursday, May 23, 2013, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 
Where: Midvale City Council Chambers, 655 West Center Street (7720 South), Midvale UT 84047


At the hearings, the Utah Transit Authority will provide an opportunity for citizens, private transportation providers, public officials and interested agencies to comment on the proposed changes.  To be included as part of the Public Hearing record, all comments must be postmarked or received by UTA no later than May 31, 2013.  

THE FORMAT FOR THE PUBLIC HEARINGS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
The meeting will be held under an Open House format to review and discuss the proposal with UTA representatives.  Individuals can ask specific one-on-one type questions with UTA staff members before turning in their public comment. 

To assure full participation at the hearing, accommodations for effective communication such as sign language interpreters or printed materials in alternative formats, or a language interpreter for non-English speaking participants, must be requested at least five (5) working days prior to the date of the scheduled event.  Requests for ADA accommodations should be directed to UTA ADA Compliance Officer at 801-287-3536 or dial 711 to make a relay call for deaf or hearing impaired persons. PROPOSALS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

Rt. 201 South State Street 

Proposed Change:  The proposed change to Rt. 201 is that after it has traveled southbound on State Street and reaches the Sandy Civic Center TRAX Station (110 East Sego Lily Drive, 10000 South) it does not continue southbound into Draper, but instead, turns back north from Sandy Civic Center TRAX station and ends at the 5300 S/Murray Central TRAX Station.

Rt. 525 – Midvale

Proposed Change: The proposed change to Rt. 525 would be to serve the Copperview Recreation Center in Midvale. To do this, after the route turns onto Monroe St (150 West), from Wasatch St. instead of continuing south, the route would turn right onto 8375 S. and continue west and turn left onto Harrison St., continue south on Harrison St. until it turns left on 8600 S. until reaching Monroe St., turn right on Monroe St. and continue clockwise on the regular route pattern after that.

Relevant information about the proposed changes will be available at the Public Hearing or may be reviewed at the UTA’s downtown Salt Lake City office at 669 West 200 South, until 5 p.m. on May 31, 2013.
