- Hooper City is proposing to increase its property tax revenue Hooper City tax on a $630,000 residence will increase from $95.98 to $140.68, which is an increase of $44.70 a year. Hooper City tax on a $630,000 business will increase from $174.51 to $255.78, which is and increase of $81.27 a year. If the proposed budget is approved, Hooper City would receive an additional $128,000 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, Hooper City would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 46.55% above last year's property tax budgeted revenues excluding new growth. Hooper City invites all concerned citizens to a public hearing for the purpose of hearing comments regarding the proposed tax increase and to explain the reasons for the proposed tax increase. You have the option to attend or participate in the public hearing in person or virtually. PUBLIC HEARING DATE: August 6, 2026 TIME: 6:00 PM MST LOCATION: Hooper City Hall 5580 W 4600 South Hooper, UT 84315 To obtain more information regarding the tax increase, citizens may contact Hooper City at 801-732-1064 or visit www.hoopercity.gov Instructions for virtual participation in the public hearing will be available at www.hoopercity.gov no later than 24 hours before the public hearing is scheduled to begin.
