- TOWN OF ALTAMONT PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF EMERGENCY TOWN COUNCIL MEETING & PROPOSED FIREWORKS BAN NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Council of Altamont will hold an Emergency Town Council Meeting to discuss and vote on critical fire safety measures ahead of the upcoming holidays. - When: Thursday, June 25, 2026 - Time: 7:00 PM - Where: Altamont Administration building 15588 W 4000 N Purpose of the Meeting: The Council will consider Resolution 2026-05, which proposes a complete ban on fireworks and other ignition sources within town limits. Due to extremely dry environmental conditions, Altamont Fire Chief B. Jared Thacker has issued a formal declaration stating that no safe locations currently exist within town boundaries for the discharge of fireworks. If passed, this ban will take effect immediately. The public is invited to attend.
