WOODS CROSS CITY 2025 ELECTION NOTICE MUNICIPAL OFFICES TO BE VOTED ON & DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY PERIOD In accordance with UCA 10-3-301 notice is hereby given that the following City positions are to be voted upon in the Woods Cross City 2023 Municipal Election: - Council Member: Two (2) 4-Year Term Seats will be on the ballot - Council Member: One (1) 2-Year Term Seat will be on the ballot - Mayor: One (1) 4-year Term Seat will be on the ballot Any eligible resident wishing to become a candidate for elected positions must file a Declaration of Candidacy form in person with the City Recorder, located at 1555 South 800 West, Woods Cross, UT 84087. The candidate filing period begins at 8 am (MST) June 1, 2025 and ends at 5 pm (MST) June 9, 2025. *NOTE Filing must be received during office hours: Office hours for the declaration period are Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm (MST). Candidates filing for the office must determine to run for the seat of Mayor, for the 2-year City Council seat OR one of the 4-year City Council Seats at the time of filing a Declaration of Candidacy. A candidate may not declare candidacy for more than ONE of the posted offices. Candidates must meet the following qualifications: 1. Be a United States citizen; 2. Be a registered voter; 3. Be at least 18 years old at the time of the election 4. Have been a resident of Woods Cross for at least 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election; and 5. In accordance with Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored as provided by statute. Election Dates: - Primary Election, if necessary: August 12, 2025 - General Election: November 4, 2025 All questions pertaining to candidate eligibility must be directed to the Woods Cross City Recorder, Annette Hanson, at (801) 292-4421.
