Williams Approval of Previous Minutes: April - motion to approve: M. Monger, 2nd by K. Brown - passed unanimously Calendar: Drew Williams (updates) - Open House is on Wednesday Oct 4th (D. Williams) Financial Report: Kent Brown Parent members needed for CC - K. Brown Budget ($47,448 total) Math/Science Equipment - 10k for equipment, supplies Digital Citizenship Week - 2k Teacher PD - 1.4k ACT Licensing - 5k + 2k for materials Technology - 10k (set of chromebooks + carts) Paraprofessional - Jeff Neilson - 17k Vote (via email) for: Proposed that M. Monger becomes Chair, S. Motion to approve (D. Whitehead); 2nd K. Brown - motion passed unanimously Principal Report: Drew Williams Safety and security update Vestibule + ballistic glass To be placed at the front entrance area of the school; security door as well that was funded through a grant. ACT update: starts in Jan (ACT/ASPIRE test Mar 5th) Equivalent test preparation paid for by grants; A private course with this material would be $1,500-$2,000 per student. FAQ - What other questions do you have that you think need to be answered? Financial Report: Kent Brown Spent $31k this year so far; $6k on Science equipment; $5k ACT licensing; $10k for chrome books and cart; Spent $10k of the planned $17k Paraprofessional; still have the $2k Digital Citizenship that is planned for the springtime. Three years of funding at the same time; voted on this year's budget last year, reporting on last year's funds, and will plan for next year's funds in the spring. We were given $47k this year, but that amount vacillates depending on the interest on the state Land Trust funds. See training notes below. Training: Received email from Kent with a video training and 2023 slide deck; training every year for UAA Community Council to watch that explains where the funding comes from; all the interest from the funds go to schools within Utah. Responsibilities as Community Council members - funding from this source needs to be spent on student-centered outcomes. Technology Report: none Other Business: ACT prep is going well (typically 11th grade)! Same with Aspire Testing (9th and 10th grade). Looking at shifting to in house next year maybe.
