Cannonville Town Council Meeting Minutes
MAY 2025
Cannonvillle town held their regular Monthly Board Meeting Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in the town Hall. The meeting began at 7:00pm.
Public in Attendance: Hal Feinberg, wife and Parents, Teresa Tompson, Chelsea & Bradyn Nielson, Gil Manning, Mark Nelson, Pete Jensen, Cherie Scoffield, Ramona
Morreale, and Anita Fletcher
Board Members: Stewart Ivie, Melanie Ott, & Alma Fletcher, John Morreale, Mayor Bill Scoffield

Prayer: John Morreale
Reading and Approval of Agenda: The agenda was read and adopted. Motion by Stewart Ivie, 2nd by Melanie Ott, all were in favor.
Reading and Approval of minutes: March 18, 2025, town council minutes were reviewed and approved, Motion to approve was by John Morreale, 2nd by Alma Fletcher, all were in favor.
Clear Skies Report: Hal Fienberg gave the council an update on Clear Skies Resort, indicating they stager registration to avoid cars waiting to turn or jam the driveway; seems to be working Okay. The restaurant is back on track. The new kitchen will be opening within the month. The new chef has great ideas to speed up the waiting time. Half the staff have been hired locally. Hal invited locals to come and stay. Stargazing $15/ person; Horseback outfitter is up and running. Hours for dinner are 5-10pm; 59 units open; adding 3 more units within the month.
Mayor's Items
-June is budget month with a public review meeting and adaptation
-Two council seats and the mayor will be open for the 2025-6 election. Available forms need to be filled out and signed in front of the clerk June 2nd 9-12:30pm
-Roger Carter will be doing GRAMMA training in the June Mtg along with duties and responsibilities for Town Council Members
-Washington City is recommending the town logo be updated to include a patriotic background in direct support of America250. No action taken
-The Christmas Lights Grant request of $4330 has been submitted to the County.
- The Bryce Valley Ranch & RV Park annexation is still awaiting State approval.
Departmental Reports:
Planning: Pete Jensen, chairperson of the Planning Commission, indicated the committee is still working on some final details of the Zoning Ordinance. Additionally, the REI parcel is up for sale and may need a zoning change. Still investigating.
Water: Alma reported it's time to automate the well controls. Sunrise Engineering has been asked to help with grant money. Thanks to Gil Manning who transported water samples this month at the last minute. Alma mentioned a building south of the bridge is looking for a water source. Alma mentioned T Holm may be willing to sell him a tap and extend the line south. No action taken.
Fire: Thanks for everybody's help with the firehouse and town cleanup.
Roads: Thanks to Darron Mathews and John Bell for filling and smoothing side of the road gravel around town during the cleanup day. Still marking spots for town street signs.
Parks: Beesley's striped the cement pad for pickleball. Alma Fletcher and John Bell fixed the hot water leak in the men's rest room. John Morreale wants to bid on the Kitchen painting project.
Misc: Another Public Town Meeting has been requested by SITLA. An archeologist firm wants to collect additional data about the area for their report. June 21st, 2025, at 2pm is the day and time.
