DIVISION OF WATER QUALITY UTAH DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY Public notice of modification to the Orem Local Limits related to the Approved POTW Pretreatment Program (Program) delegated by the Division of Water Quality. PURPOSE OF PUBLIC NOTICE The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) is soliciting public comment regarding modifications to the Orem Local Limits for implementing the Program. These changes are considered a substantial modification of the Program implemented by the city of Orem. DWQ reviewed the changes and found that the changes met the requirements of Utah Admin Code. R317-8-8 and 40 CFR 403. Once the public notice period and comment process are completed, DWQ intends to formally approve the modifications for implementation by the City of Orem. PERMIT INFORMATION PERMITTEE NAME: City of Orem MAILING ADDRESS: 1450 West 550 North, Orem, Utah 84057 FACILITY LOCATION: 1797 West 1000 South, Orem, Utah TELEPHONE NUMBER: (801) 229-7506 UPDES PERMIT NO.: UT0020915 BACKGROUND The City of Orem has modified the Local Limits for implementing the Program due to revisions made to the Local Limits. The changes could impact Industrial Users discharging to the Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTW), which the City of Orem owns and operates. PUBLIC COMMENTS Public comments are invited before the close of business on June 30th, 202 5. Written public comments can be submitted to Jennifer Robinson, UPDES Individual Permitting Section, Utah Division of Water Quality, PO Box 144870, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114-4870, or by email at jenrobinson@utah.gov. A public hearing can be requested, although it must be filed during the comment period, which will end on June 30th, 202 5. A request for a public hearing must be filed per 40 CFR 403.11. After considering public comments, the DWQ Director may approve, revise, or abandon the revisions to the Local Limits. The director will not publish a notice of decision provided the Local Limits will be approved without any changes and no comments are received during the public comment period.
