The MAG Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) 2026 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) for July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, has been released for a 30-day public comment period. The comment period runs from 05/08/2025 until close of business day 06/07/2025. The UPWP serves as a management tool that identifies the work tasks, staffing needs, studies, costs, and funding sources for the MPO transportation planning and programming activities within the Provo/Orem Urbanized area. The primary funding source for MPO staffing and administration costs comes from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Planning Funds and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) 5303 Planning Funds of the U.S. Department of Transportation. MPO studies are funded with MPO Exchange state funding. The MPO partners with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) and the Utah Transit Authority to outline in the UPWP each organization's planning activities to be conducted within the MPO area.
