NEWTON, UTAH 2025 NOTICE OF ELECTION Pursuant to Section 10-3-301(2)(a) of the Utah Code, notice is hereby given that the Municipal Offices in Newton, Utah to be voted on in the 2025 Municipal General Election are: - Mayor - four-year term - Town Council Member - four-year term - Town Council Member - four-year term A primary election will be held, if necessary, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. The general election will be held on November 4, 2025. Ballots will be mailed to registered voters. DECLARATION OF CANDIDACY Those interested in running for office must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the Newton Town Clerk. Declaration of Candidacy filing must be made June 2 - 6, 2025 during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is no filing fee. The required filing form is available at the Newton Town Hall, 51 South Center, Newton. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED OF CANDIDATES: - Be a United States citizen at the time of filing. - Be a registered voter of Newton Town. - Be at least 18 years old. - Be a resident of Newton Town for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the general election; November 4, 2025. - Not be a convicted felon.
